In 2010, Jean-Philippe Lemieux and Carl Foisy started ExterminaPro with a mission to address both of these core business functions equally. Today, the company has seen a minimum of 20% growth for six straight years.

Lemieux and Foisy attribute their success to the strict division between responsibilities. “I direct operations, and he [Carl] deals with sales. It’s been that way since the very beginning and is still that way today. When pest control companies grow, there comes a period of transition when sales expand and quality service can suffer. We never had to deal with that transition.”

In order to ensure high quality service, the partners’ roles focus on any part of the business that impacts a customer’s experience. This includes monitoring technicians, equipment, and products. Despite such rapid growth, they both still go to check on treatment sites to ensure customer satisfaction.

Because ExterminaPro’s mission is based on high quality, Carl and Jean-Phillipe chose a distributor that upholds similar values: Univar. Jean cites his relationship with his Univar rep, Nathalie Juteau, as a very positive one.

“Both the price and service [from Univar] are very good. When I call, I usually call about products, but I also sometimes have questions. Univar is always able to provide me with answers and offer extra help.”

Jean’s partnership with Univar is a close second to his partnership with Carl, both yielding continually positive results. Having a vision is important, but being surrounded by others who support that vision is what really drives success.
